Wm Morrison Supermarkets – a customer in the UK – called in a panic: a fire had destroyed one of their biggest bakery facilities. Following a same-day site visit, we installed three connected buildings at the bakery site. The timeline was challenging but we had the building up and operating in 14 days. Within two weeks, the customer was able to continue profitable business operations while a permanent building was planned and rebuilt.
At Herchenbach, we are highly experienced at turning around disaster recovery projects very quickly. Automotive suppliers, supermarket chains, retail operations and many others rely on us to ensure fast, reliable and cost-effective temporary building and semi-permanent warehouse solutions.
Herchenbach buildings are available in spans from 5 m to 30 m, heights up to 7.40 m and in any length required (Building Sizes). Our structures are modular (pre-fabricated) and come as non-insulated, semi-insulated or fully-insulated. Options such as doors, gates and lighting are individually configured. No special foundations or groundworks are required, meaning the buildings can be installed on compacted gravel, asphalt, composite paving and concrete. Installation as well as de-installation are very simple, meaning we can deliver a 1000 m2 disaster recovery building in under one week. Overview: Building types
Business continuity management and contingency planning are essential, as any disaster your organisation suffers requires a rapid response. This must be planned in advance.
While continuity plans often focus on IT and financial data, buildings and other facilities are an important part of the equation as well. When your organisation's taskforce or external consultant formulates your contingency plan, be sure to include a section on buildings and facilities. Herchenbach can do a site evaluation and propose a range of solutions to virtually any scenario on your checklist. And often times, temporary structure costs are covered by business interruption insurance.
Herchenbach is your trusted partner for structurally sound clear span building solutions in emergencies!
